Senior Data Scientist (m/w/d)

Your tasks and duties:

  • Build, train, run, own and validate predictive and explorative analytical AI models on top of the RRPS data and analytics platforms (on edge, on premises, cloud)
  • Presentation of qualitative and quantitative results obtained during development and running of these models via rapidly prototyped interactive reports and visualisations
  • Independent scouting of emerging technological & conceptual trends in Data Science
  • Supporting Junior Data Scientist via know-how transfer and active tutoring
  • Contribute to the self-organizing spirit of our agile delivery teams and work in a full agile process (taking part in necessary ceremonies, etc.)
  • Generate analytical & technological insights for the management and portfolio teams
  • Support the AI Program Manager & Product Owners in the definition of features, user stories, tasks and sub tasks when necessary
  • Take new & shiny AI technologies and contextualize them for the customer processes
  • Adhere to established standard coding quality guidelines

Your qualifications should be:

  • Finished technically studies of Computer Science or a comparable field
  • At least 5 years of industrial experience in data science
  • Deep technical understanding of machine learning & statistics
  • Concrete understanding of Deep Learning technologies
  • Concrete understanding of the technical properties and specifics of power systems is a considerable plus
  • Strong understanding of standard Big Data and analytics technologies, such as Apache Spark, Flink, Hadoop or Kafka
  • Very high proficiency level in Python –an additional strong understanding of other relevant languages is considered a plus (e.g. Scala)
  • Established knowledge of modern software development and microservice frameworks
  • Curious, independent mindset and attitude –you explore new technological & methodical options independently and without being asked
  • Active interest in understanding customer business & technological processes
  • Strong collaboration skills and cross-functional thinking and acting
  • Constantly rethink our way of working and gain for efficiency increase
  • Fluent in English, good command of the German language is a plus
