2. Your visit to our website

When you visit the pages in our career portal, all instances of access are recorded in a log file on our web servers. The following data are captured: IP-address of your client, date and time of access, name and URL of the accessed file, pages visited, data volume transferred, retrieval success report, video/audio media listened to/viewed, clicks on individual links, search words or phrases. The log file is stored for two months. 

We process this data for technical reasons to enable us to continually optimize the security and presentation of our websites. No person-specific evaluations are made.

3. Recruitment procedure

Throughout the full recruitment process, we treat your personal data carefully and confidentially in accordance with statutory data protection requirements. Your data are stored and processed solely for the purpose of implementing our recruitment procedure.

The legal basis for this is data processing in the context of employment as per Art. 88 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in conjunction with Section 26, Par.  1, Sentence 1 of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). There shall be no transfer of your data to third parties outside our group of affiliated companies.

You may make your job application on-line. To do so, you must enter your personal data in the online input mask and upload the required application documents. Instead of entering your personal data and uploading your résumés manually, you also have the option of transferring your profile from a social network such as LinkedIn or XING etc.

If you apply for a job by e-mail, we shall set up your profile on-line and store your application documents using our recruitment tool. Your e-mail will then be erased from our mail box.

We shall only process the data you provide us with in the course of the recruitment procedure. This data is essentially: 

  • First name and surname
  • Address
  • E-mail address
  • Post in question
  • Age
  • Nationality
  • Résumé and other personal data accompanying your application
  • Gender – to enable us to address you correctly
  • Age and date of birth to enable us to comply with statutory minimum age requirement. 
  • Nationality of non-EU members to enable us to comply with statutory minimum age requirements.

In line with the organizational structure of the Rolls-Royce Power Systems Group, your application, depending on the post you are applying for, will be processed by the RRPS AG recruitment team or by recruitment teams in our subsidiaries. If you are selected for a particular job, the further recruitment process will involve your application being sent to those responsible for filling the vacancy at the group company in question.

In all cases, your personal data shall only be processed by the group companies responsible for the job advertisement, and, where appropriate, by service providers who render services necessary to the recruitment procedure.  All such service providers have been strictly obliged to observe data protection requirements. The host of our main recruitment platform is an external service provider based in Germany who also acts as processor. Your data shall only be disclosed to service providers who are under contract with us and, also, if and insofar as statutory legislation obliges us to do so, to public authorities.

4. Recruitment pool

To enable us to take you into account for other vacancies arising in the future in our company group, we would also like to register you in our applicant pool. However we may only enter your details in the pool if we have your express agreement. To give your agreement, all you need to do is place a tick mark in the box ‘Consent to extended use'. We will then enter your profile and résumé into the system.

The storage and processing of your data shall take place on the legal basis of Art. 6 Par. 1 a) GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). As soon as a vacancy arises for which you might be considered, we will contact you by e-mail or telephone. The legal basis for this recruitment procedure will then be Art. 88 GDPR in conjunction with Sec. 26 Par. 1, Sentence 1 Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

You may withdraw at any time your agreement to retention of your details in our applicant pool and subsequent assessment thereof in relation to other vacancies in our company group by sending an e-mail or letter to::

If you do not agree to being included in our pool of applicants or if you withdraw the consent you have given, it will not be possible to take your application into account for other posts. Your data will then be erased from the applicant pool immediately.

5. When will your data be erased and how can you update it?

If you wish your personal profile and/or some or all of your applications to be erased with immediate effect, please contact us by e-mail or send a letter to:

In this case, we shall likewise instruct any contracted third parties who have received your personal data to erase it immediately.

Standard procedure is for us to hold applicants' data in our recruitment management system for a period of 4 months following completion of a recruitment process. Your data shall be erased immediately on expiry of that period.  In the event that you withdraw agreement to storage of your data in our applicant pool, it shall be erased within 7 working days.

6. Rights of data subjects

You have the right to request information at any time on the data relating to your person being stored. You furthermore have the right to request correction of any errors in your personal data, which includes the right to have inadequate data completed in the form of e.g. a supplementary statement. 

Furthermore, you have the right to request where appropriate that your personal data be erased (right to erasure). Should erasure not be permissible due to statutory requirements e.g. archiving requirements, the processing of your data shall instead be restricted (i.e. blocked) so that it may be accessed only for the strict purpose of meeting these legal requirements. You furthermore have the right where appropriate to make a request yourself for restriction of the processing of your personal data (right to restrict). With respect to personal data which you have provided us with and which is processed  by us in relation to an agreement or contract using automatic means, you have the right to request that such data is transferred to you or to a third party named by you (right to data portability). You may object to the processing of your data for reasons relating to your particular situation if such processing is being carried out in our overriding legitimate interest or for the purpose of a task being performed in the public interest (right to object). Insofar as data processing takes place on the basis of your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time (right to withdraw consent).
